The evolution of Information Technology has changed the way of land management and monitoring of its utilization and activities. The use of Geographical Information System (GIS) has largely helped in planning and analyzing necessary data which allows the user to carry out a complex evaluation of the situation. Which in turn will help in the constructive decision making in the course of land use. GIS helps to integrate future possibility changes, for example, data on the vegetation, existing building structure, soil, etc., and taking that information and visualizing it in charts, graphs, or in 3D models. GIS can help in the implementation of remote sensing which helps in monitoring and also estimates the rate of degradation of forest cover, flora, and fauna.

In the last decade, there has been rapid development in the field of Information technology that has helped in the evolution of advanced technologies such as GIS and remote sensing. GIS helps to develop products that involve analysis and interpretation of a large amount of data collected from field surveys of every individual property and generate reports for decision-making at the application scale. Such customized applications can help in the generation of various kinds of land-related information according to the requirements of the user.

  • Advance Map Management: With the help of spatial technology, accurate representation of the boundaries of plots /parcels is highly possible through modern digitization tools. In addition, aerial imagery can be helpful to understand the current state of the land. Through this land management software, one can easily retrieve information and attributes of land boundaries like land boundaries, land type, number of occupants, etc.
  • Document Management: With the flavor of GIS and MIS any kind of spatial and non-spatial documents can be easily stored, managed, and retrieved while required.
  • Rehabilitation & Resettlement Management:
In a very hassle-free manner, project-affected people /families can be compensated, rehabilitated, or resettled. The software will make it simpler for both the acquisition authority and PAFs starting from monitoring, a calculation to solve their grievances.
  • Decision making: The collected data through different surveying techniques can be analyzed and represented in graphs and charts which also can be customized for better decision making.
