Over the past years, companies are heavily investing in CSR which has surpassed all expectations. India Inc has already spent over INR 9000 Crore in the financial year 2017–2018 from the INR 30,000 Crore allotted for a span of 4 years. More and more stakeholders are participating in CSR directly or indirectly due to which a streamlined project management process is required. Incorporating new technologies like GIS, MIS, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be the way forward.
Revolutionary technologies such as GIS can ease the management of CSR activities for an enterprise. With the use of GIS, digital base maps of schools, roads, police stations, hospitals, etc. can be generated. By analyzing the digitized map, a company can plan and execute its CSR activities accordingly. They can track project milestones with the help of geotagged images.

As more and more companies are spending on CSR there is a rise in social and environmental performance. Therefore, performance analysis of CSR data is becoming vital. Management of CSR is quite a difficult task, which involves stakeholder management and impact analysis. Custom software applications can be built to manage and monitor for easy analysis.

For example, TechCSR, developed by CyberSWIFT, has been built to manage all the CSR activities in a single dashboard by using GIS and MIS technologies. This makes it quite easy to visualize the data rather than maintaining data sheets offline.

Technological advancements are creating a big impact in CSR management in this era of the internet. The world of Digital media is empowering CSR to new heights. The future is full of opportunities and excitement as new and innovative technologies are paving the way to transform the way CSR is implemented.
